Department of Physiology
Fazaia Medical College has been established in Main Campus of Air University, Islamabad in 2015 as its constituent college. Dept of Physiology is one of the pioneer departments which has started functioning since the inception of this solitary Medical College of Pakistan Air Force.
Amongst different preclinical and clinical disciplines of UG curriculum, Physiology provides the basis for understanding the functions of organ – systems of human body and underlying mechanisms that provide the physiological basis of disease and treatment. Physiology will be taught as a major subject during first two years in horizontally integrated MBBS curriculum.
Undergraduate Program: Mission Statement:
The undergraduate program of Physiology has been designed for the purpose to prepare the students of MBBS for undergoing training in clinical subjects and for graduate studies in its related disciplines. The rapid evolution in understanding the physiological sciences, has led to emphasize on learning the fundamental principles of various mechanisms and functions from cell to systems of the body in its clinical relevance.
Educational Objectives of the Program:
The broad objectives of the undergraduate program of physiology are to instill in its graduates a solid foundation of Physiological principles of various systems of human body in relevance to the clinical signs and symptoms of disease and to develop intellectual skills essential for success in their careers.

Department of Bio-Chemistry
“TODAY’S BIO CHEMISTRY IS TOMORROWS MEDICINE”.
Biochemistry is defined as the chemical basis of all living processes. Key objective of biochemistry is to learn molecular basis of all biochemical process with clinical orientation. Biochemistry encompasses large areas of cell biology, molecular biology, and molecular genetics.
Biochemistry is the language of biology. The tools for research in all branches of medical science are mainly Biochemical nature. Its study is essential to understand basic functions of the human body. It provides information regarding changes occurring at molecular level. It is the most rapidly developing subject in medicine regarding research at molecular and genetic level. It is helpful in devising new techniques, tools to study diseases as well as advancement in cure. Our biochemistry lab is purpose built, well equipped and fulls the criteria of PMDC regarding space, tools, furniture machines and IT facilities.

Department of Forensic Medicine
INTRODUCTION OF FORENSIC MEDICINE
Forensic medicine is the branch of medical science that deals with the application of medical knowledge for the purpose of law. It deals with i all types of medicolegalcertifications ranging from day to day cases of violence of any kind (including sexual violence i.e. rape and sodomy) and also the post mortem reports in cases of suspicious deaths to rule out a foul playand for the establishment of cause of death. It also solves the medicolegal problems like identification, age, sex, nature of injuries, and information from scene of crime, both in living as well as in dead bodies. The subject also incorporates the toxicology which is the knowledge about all commonly available poisons domestic as well as commercial and also includes the poisonous effects of the drugs used for the treatment of various diseases.
The department consists of faculty offices, a purpose built lecture hall with all modern facilities including multimedia, forensic museum and forensic laboratory.
The practical Medicolegal and Autopsy Training of the students will be conducted at PIMS Hospital (Inshallah)
