The Department of Anatomy, Fazaia Medical College, Air University, Islamabad, successfully organized ANATOMICA 2026, an International Seminar centered on the theme "Innovate • Educate • Elevate." The event served as a dynamic platform for medical educators, international experts, researchers, and students to exchange knowledge and explore contemporary innovations in anatomy education.
The scientific program featured keynote lectures by distinguished international speakers, including Dr. Lane Prigge (School of Medicine, University of Pretoria, South Africa) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zul Izhar Mohd. Ismail , Univeristi Sains Malaysia, Health campus, Malaysia. Their presentations highlighted emerging trends, technological advancements, and innovative teaching strategies shaping the future of anatomical sciences.
The seminar also showcased a range of engaging academic activities, including a Faculty Development Pre Seminar Workshop titled "From Chalk to Challenge: Integrating Digital Gamification in Teaching and Learning Practices," an interactive Gaming Quiz, an Anatomy Poster Competition featuring undergraduate student research, and immersive Virtual Dissection Table (VDT) and Virtual Reality (VR) demonstrations, providing participants with firsthand exposure to modern approaches in anatomy teaching and learning.
ANATOMICA 2026 successfully fostered academic collaboration, professional networking, and scholarly exchange among participants. The event reaffirmed the Department of Anatomy's commitment to promoting excellence in medical education through innovation, technology-enhanced learning, and active student engagement.
