On October 30th,Fazaia Medical College hosted a collaborative hands-on workshop on ”Effective Lesson Planning for Educator” with Fazaia Ruth Pfau Medical College Karachi, adhering to the commitment to improve medical education. This event wasorganized by the Department of Medical Education (DME) FRPMC Karachi and conducted via Zoom.
The faculty of Fazaia Medical College, Islamabad from various departments engaged in hands-on activities that linked the theoretical knowledge to its practical applications, hence enhancing the teaching methodologies. Group presentations were arranged that facilitated knowledge exchange and stimulated innovative strategies for teaching along with nurturing and strengthening close collaboration between the two institutions.
Thirty seven (37) participants from FMC-Islamabad and thirty two (32) participants from FRPMC-Karachi participated in the workshop. The session was conducted from FRPMC Karachi by Dr Tahir, Director DME and Dr Fouzia Kirmani. From FMC Islamabad the Facilitators were coordinated by Dr Tahira Ayub, Assistant Director DME and the session was moderated by Dr Marina Wazir, Senior Instructor CSL, DME FMC – Islamabad.
The participants learnt about updated “Lesson planning strategies”, including Gagne’s nine events of Instruction. The collaborative Faculty development workshops will continue during 2024-2025 on different Topics and details shall be shared as and when the events are held.
