AIM

The aim of the Certificate in Health Professions Education course is to equip healthcare professionals with advanced teaching techniques, enhance their instructional skills, and foster a deep understanding of medical education principles, ensuring they excel as educators in the field of healthcare.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course the participants will be able to:

  • Examine their role as an educator by acquiring basic knowledge, skills and attitude of a competent medical teacher
  • Apply the theoretical and empirical literature in medical education to enhance students learning and educational environment in a given context.
  • Explain educational theories and apply adult learning principles in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Apply basic principles, knowledge and skills for designing & developing an integrated curriculum at undergraduate level.
  • Discuss and apply the fundamentals of educational methodologies (Learning and Teaching).
  • Apply fundamental principles in ‘Assessment’ while designing an assessment plan and assessment tools.
  • Identify the basic principles of designing an evaluation plan for a teaching program and appreciate significance of program evaluation.
  • Demonstrate effective presentation skills, communication skills, group & team dynamics, reflective practice, giving & receiving constructive feedback, professionalism while participating in the groups / team based projects.
